A Very Happy & Peaceful New Year 2013

It is with great pleasure, on behalf of SLSS-UK, I wish you all and all your respective congregations good health, peace, happiness and success in this New Year 2013!

2012 has been a wonderful DIAMOND YEAR in the perspective of Sri Lankan Sangha in UK. We appreciate everyone’s enormous support in numerous ways for the upkeep of our Sangha Sabha UK.

Beginning and End of 2012 was socking and sad due to unfortunate situations took place at Thames Vihara and Wat Buddhadipa Tai Wimbledon Vihara. Solidarity shown by our members of SLSS-UK and general public on such situations is extremely commendable.

However, rest of the year highlights are historical and were very successful. We represented a key role at UK National Celebrations in 2012 which was an extremely exceptional year to UK. Sri Lankan Sangha was honoured to receive the fore front of any national representation of Buddhists in this Country. Among those, Royal Wedding, Diamond Jubilieee Celebration, London Olympic, Remembrance Day, Queen’s Award, Buddhist Statistics, World Buddhist Conference; are few historical highlights. Without your ever grateful support to keep the unity and regular meetings of SLSS-UK, nothing could have been impressive. So thank you and much merits!

We are so pleased, ever since the re-emerge in 2009, we are doing very well moving from strength to strength. So we need to keep this momentum going. Therefore, 2013 is another important year for all of us to proceed with unity, solidarity, regular meetings, productive communications and good will. Such vibrant inspirations will certainly embark firm assurance of the existence of SLSS-UK especially in UK, Europe, Sri Lanka and Worldwide with trust and prestige. So let us work together to make 2013 another successful Year.

Next Meeting of SLSS-UK will be held on Friday 25thJanuary 2013 from 1-3PM. Venerable Akurala Samitha and members of Letchworth Dhamma Nikethanaya Buddhist Cultural Centre respectfully host this meeting in Letchworth. Therefore, I would be very grateful if you could accept this invitation and show us a very strong beginning to start with.

Next Meeting: Friday 25th January 2013

Time: 1-3PM

Venue: Letchworth Dhamma Nikethanaya, 69 Pix Road, Letchworth SG6 1PZ

Note: Lunch Dana for all attending Venerable Monks at 11AM

The Lord Buddha once proclaimed out of infinite compassion "Sukha Sanghassa Samaggi". The purity, unity, amity, stability and frequent congregations of Sangha (noble order of monks) by all means are an abundant blessing to this universe. Long may it last!

We have few important issues to talk about. If you have something to share, please be kind to post them to us to include into the agenda.

We all look forward to a successful conference on the first meeting in the beginning of New Year.

May the triple Gem Bless you all! May all the devas protect you and all your communities!

With metta & Blessings..

Most Venerable Bogoda Seelawimala Nayaka Thero
